The Role:
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will lead the development of cutting-edge Android experiences that reach millions of travelers worldwide. This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role where you will design, build, and scale Android applications that define how users interact with Wego’s travel platform.

Our engineers actively integrate tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, and Cursor into their workflows to accelerate development, testing, and innovation.
What you will be working on:
Lead the design, architecture, and development of advanced Android features using Kotlin, Jetpack, and Compose
Deliver scalable, maintainable, and performant code that drives exceptional user experiences
Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to ship impactful features
Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Codex, Cursor) to ideate, refactor, and optimize code
Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices
Debug and optimize app performance across multiple Android versions and devices
Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high test coverage
Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration
Participate in architectural discussions and help shape Wego’s Android technical roadmap
Core Responsibilities:
Lead Android development initiatives and deliver high-quality, scalable features
Champion AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance productivity and innovation
Drive performance optimization, automation, and code quality standards
Mentor team members and contribute to long-term technical planning
Skills and experience:
7+ years of Android development experience with proven ownership of production apps
Expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack, and Compose
Strong understanding of architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture
Proficiency in asynchronous programming, coroutines, and Flow
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs
Skilled in performance profiling, debugging, and optimization
Proficient with unit and UI testing frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso
Active use of AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Codex, Claude, Cursor) to enhance productivity and quality
Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and security
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment
Nice to have:
Experience with Jetpack Compose, Hilt/Dagger, and modular app architecture
Familiarity with Firebase, Crashlytics, and Play Console release management
Experience in mobile CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation
Contributions to open-source Android projects or active engagement in the developer community
Exposure to cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native) or Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
Previous experience in travel tech or other high-scale consumer product domains
