Team Description:
The Travel Booking team supports Wego’s travelers with their booking journey, ensuring smooth flight and hotel experiences through expert assistance, modifications, and issue resolution. The team works across multiple systems and partners to provide fast, accurate, and customer-focused service, enhancing traveler satisfaction and trust in Wego’s platform.
The Role:
The Travel Agent will handle complex booking modifications, fare applications, and travel arrangements that cannot be managed online. The role requires a strong understanding of fares, GDS operations, and booking systems to deliver accurate and cost-effective solutions for customers.
What you will be working on:
- Modify flight reservations and tickets that cannot be handled online, including exchanges, voids, cancellations, and refunds
- Apply the best available fares for domestic and international flights, including contract fares, snap codes, and airline rules
- Use multiple PCCs and GDS platforms to optimize fare selection and reduce booking costs
- Perform Quality Control checks to ensure all bookings comply with airline rules and policies
- Monitor and identify issues with booking and ticketing systems
- Create and update customer profiles and invoices
- Build PNRs, create itineraries, check availability, and ensure timely ticket issuance
- Manage booking and ticketing optimization including reissues, cancellations, and rebookings to achieve additional savings
- Work with global consolidators across multiple BSPs to gain the best commission or lowest fare possible
- Handle hotel reservations, manage modifications, and ensure accurate invoicing and confirmations
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage complex booking and ticketing requests accurately and efficiently
- Optimize fares and bookings using multiple GDS systems and consolidators
- Ensure compliance with flight rules and booking policies through thorough quality checks
- Deliver exceptional customer service across all post-booking touchpoints
Skills and experience:
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within an OTA or travel agency
- Strong awareness and understanding of the travel industry
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a high-volume environment
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts and days off, including night and overnight shifts in a 24/7 operation
- Onsite work requirement
- Hotel booking experience is a plus
- IATA certification is a plus
