Team Description:
The Finance team oversees accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial operations across all Wego entities. The team ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with local and international regulations, and effective management of resources to support Wego’s strategic and operational objectives.
The Role:
The Finance Manager for OTA Operations will lead a team responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reconciliations, and compliance across the OTA business. This role requires strong leadership skills and deep expertise in OTA-specific finance operations.
What you will be working on:
Financial Operations & Controls
Manage end-to-end financial operations including AP, AR, reconciliations, settlements, and cash flow monitoring
Oversee supplier and partner payments (airlines, hotels, GDS, LCC, consolidators, payment gateways, etc.) ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor customer refunds, chargebacks, and ensure resolution of disputes
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies
Reconciliation & Reporting
Lead daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of OTA-specific accounts (GDS, LCC, VCC, wallets, banks)
Ensure accurate revenue recognition and reconciliation between booking systems, ERP, and bank accounts
Prepare detailed variance analysis of revenues, commissions, discounts, cancellations, and refunds
Drive timely monthly closing, working closely with corporate accounting teams
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify gaps in operational finance processes and implement automation to improve efficiency
Collaborate with technology teams to design solutions for automated reconciliations and settlement workflows
Standardize financial processes across regions and business units
Compliance & Audit
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (GST, TDS, VAT, Corporate Tax depending on jurisdiction)
Support statutory, internal, and external audits with reconciliations and documentation
Ensure adherence to AML, ABC, and other regulatory requirements impacting OTA payments and settlements
Core Responsibilities:
Lead OTA financial operations, reconciliations, and settlements
Manage compliance, audit preparation, and financial controls
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives
Oversee a team of finance professionals handling high-volume transactions
Skills and experience:
Strong knowledge of OTA business models, booking flows, and settlement cycles
Deep expertise in reconciliations, accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), and financial operations
Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and OTA tools (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, direct LCC integrations)
Advanced Excel proficiency; SQL knowledge is a plus
Team leadership and people management experience in a high-volume transactional environment
Process-oriented mindset with a focus on automation and efficiency
Qualifications and experience:
Chartered Accountant, CPA, MBA Finance, or equivalent qualification
8–12 years of finance experience, with at least 4–5 years in OTA, travel, e-commerce, or payments sector
Proven track record in managing reconciliations, settlements, and financial operations in multi-currency, high-volume environments
Experience leading teams of five or more members
